CIC has plans to unveil an active programme of events for 2013-14 working with our business sponsors.

  • Lauch of Azerbaijan Study Programme, December 7th 2011, London.   CIC’s Azerbaijan Study Programme was launched at a high-level reception at Canning House, attended by more than 80 guests, including diplomats, Members of Parliament, think-tank directors and businessmen, as well as members of the Azeri community in London.   The occasion was hosted by Lord Lamont of Lerwick, former Chancellor of the Exchequer, and other speakers included Gerald Frost, CIC Director, the former British Trade Minister, Lord Fraser of Carmyllie, Chairman of the Anglo-Azerbaijani Society, Mark Field MP, chairman of the Azerbaijan All-Party Parliamentary Group at Westminster, and Dr. Shirin Akiner, lecturer at London University’s School of Oriental and African Studies and a distinguished expert on the Caspian region.   For more information on our successful launch, please click here.
  • Round Table Discussion at the London School of Economics, June 28th 2012.  “Azerbaijan: Image and Reality”.   Gerald Frost, CIC Director, and Dr Shirin Akiner, senior lecturer at the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies, led a very senior-level and stimulating discussion about Azerbaijan’s place in the world, its problems and its challenges.   For more information on our round table discussion, please click here.
